Schiphol: annual maintenance of the Buitenveldertbaan runway from 31 August to 8 September
Schiphol Airport will carry out its regular annual maintenance of the Buitenveldertbaan runway, which will take it out of service on weekdays. The runway will remain operational over the weekend of 5-6 September.
While the runway is closed, other airport runways will take over traffic. Aircraft that normally take off from or land on the Buitenveldertbaan will use alternative runways for the duration of the works.

Work being carried out on the runway
- Inspection and, if needed, repair of asphalt and markings
- Inspection of cabling and electrical systems
- Flushing of the rainwater drainage system
- Mowing of surrounding grass areas and cleaning or replacing lights
Alternative runway use
- Kaagbaan (northeast direction) as an alternative for departures
- Schiphol-Oostbaan as an alternative for arrivals
- Depending on wind conditions, other airport runways may also be used
