Schiphol to repair taxiways A and B from March to June 2026
According to its own press release, Schiphol Airport will repair sections of taxiways A and B between links A21 and A25 from March to June 2026. The sections are more than twenty years old and suffer from worn asphalt, lighting, cabling and drainage. The work is being carried out by construction company Heijmans in two phases to limit the impact on the airport's surroundings and on passengers.
According to Schiphol, the repairs include replacing the asphalt surface over an area of roughly 65,000 m2, improving and expanding rainwater drainage, restoring the surrounding areas, replacing 32 kilometres of electrical cabling, and upgrading the lighting and markings on the taxiways.

Schiphol also scheduled the annual routine maintenance of the Polderbaan and Zwanenburgbaan runways for the same period, so the effects of the works would not pile up across different dates. The airport notes that restrictions on the taxiways may, during peak hours, also affect operations on the take-off and landing runways – instead of Zwanenburgbaan, the Buitenveldertbaan will occasionally be used in combination with Polderbaan during the day, but only when wind direction and traffic intensity require it.
Schiphol said that alternative flight paths during the works may be noticeable for residents near the airport, who can direct any questions to the Bewonersaanspreekpunt Schiphol.
