Noida International Airport begins commercial operations
Noida International Airport (IATA: DXN) in India launched commercial operations today with an inaugural IndiGo flight from Lucknow. The airport is operated by Zurich Airport Ltd., which describes the launch as an important step towards building a new aviation gateway for the Delhi NCR region and northern India.
According to the Flughafen Zürich newsroom, airport operations began with an IndiGo flight from Lucknow. The company expects traffic at the airport to grow gradually in the coming months, with other airlines set to launch services there over time.
Zurich Airport Ltd. also notes that since March 2026 the global aviation market has been affected by heightened geopolitical uncertainty due to the conflict in the Middle East. According to the company, airspace closures, higher fuel costs and capacity adjustments have led to a more volatile operating environment for Indian airlines, which is also affecting the pace of ramp-up at newly opened airports and the speed of introducing new routes and frequencies.
