According to the source, Saudi authorities were still assessing the extent of material damage to the airport at the time the report was published.
The attack is the latest in a string of similar incidents in recent weeks – in early October, the Houthis also struck the airport in Riyadh, killing twelve people and injuring more than three hundred.
According to the text, these attacks are Houthi retaliation for Saudi Arabia's support of Yemeni government forces fighting the rebels.
The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have been waging a civil war against the Yemeni government since 2014, during which they took control of the northwest of the country, including the capital Sanaa. In September, they also extended their control over almost the entire Yemeni coast of the Red Sea and seized territory near the Bab al-Mandab strait.
