Lufthansa Group expands 2026/27 winter schedule with dozens of new routes
Starting with the 2026/27 winter schedule, Lufthansa is adding eleven new long-haul destinations featuring the Allegris cabin, including Kuala Lumpur, Houston and Singapore, while also boosting frequencies on busy routes. Subsidiary airlines SWISS, ITA Airways, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Edelweiss and Eurowings have also announced new destinations and higher frequencies.

Lufthansa said that after rolling out its new Allegris onboard service on all long-haul flights in early May, it is now significantly expanding the number of destinations served with this cabin starting this coming winter. The new cabin concept was introduced in 2024 and offers passengers in all classes an individual experience thanks to new seat types, high-quality materials and modern technology.
New Allegris destinations from Frankfurt
- New long-haul destinations from Frankfurt include Vancouver (Canada), Houston (USA), Denver (USA), Atlanta (USA), Detroit (USA), San José (Costa Rica), Seoul (South Korea) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
- Lufthansa will fly to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, five times a week nonstop starting October 25.
- On the Kuala Lumpur route, as well as on the Frankfurt–Chennai (India) route from March, Lufthansa will deploy a new Boeing 787-9 with 287 seats in three classes and the Allegris cabin.
Lufthansa said that by launching flights to Kuala Lumpur, it is strengthening its network in Southeast Asia and betting on growth in this dynamic region.
New Allegris destinations from Munich
- From Munich, Lufthansa will offer Allegris service to Singapore starting at the end of October, to Washington (USA) from March 2027, and to Cape Town (South Africa).
Higher frequencies on long-haul routes
- From Frankfurt, Lufthansa will increase weekly frequencies this winter to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), San José (Costa Rica), Bogotá (Colombia), Lagos (Nigeria) and Hyderabad (India).
- From Munich, frequencies will increase to São Paulo (Brazil), Mexico City, Johannesburg (South Africa) and Washington (USA).
News from SWISS and ITA Airways
- SWISS will add Bengaluru in southern India to its network for the first time and will introduce its new long-haul product, SWISS Senses, on the Airbus A350 on routes to Johannesburg and Shanghai.
- ITA Airways will launch a new seasonal direct route from Rome-Fiumicino to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) for winter 2026/27, serving the Central American market for the first time.
- ITA Airways will also include the Rome-Fiumicino–Houston and Rome-Fiumicino–London Heathrow routes, already launched in the summer season, in its winter schedule.
Brussels Airlines and Discover Airlines
- Brussels Airlines will open a route between Brussels and Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) on June 3; due to high demand, the route will continue into winter instead of running only in summer, operating once a week from October 28 to December 16 and twice a week from December 19 to February 21.
- Starting winter 2026/27, Discover Airlines will add two new destinations in Morocco – Agadir from Frankfurt and Fez from Munich, where it will offer the only direct connection.
- Discover Airlines will also include flights from Munich to Ivalo, Finland in its winter schedule for the first time, operating once a week from mid-December to mid-April.
Edelweiss and Eurowings
- Due to strong demand for Scandinavia, Edelweiss is expanding its offering to Finland and Norway and extending its season to Luleå, Sweden; it is also increasing capacity to the Canary Islands, Faro, Bilbao, Seville and Mallorca.
- Eurowings is boosting its European and Nordic winter offering from Berlin, adding a new route to Kuusamo, Finland, and increasing frequencies to Rovaniemi and Kittilä.
- Eurowings is also expanding its so-called Hauptstadtexpress from Berlin – launching a route to Rome for the first time on November 2 and continuing to offer a connection to London-Heathrow in winter; from Düsseldorf, it will fly to Madrid year-round for the first time.
According to Lufthansa Group, all new destinations for the 2026/27 winter schedule are now open for booking.
